Underlying Truth

My sunken red eyes are surrounded by sore puffy rings,

My drowning eyelashes blink away the sharp stings.

Compromising my vision with each pear shaped tear,

Tiny rays of hope shredded as the facts become clear.

Armed with adrenalin as strength transcends its face

Heartbreaking anger escapes and fills gaps of space.

Nakedly exposed are bottled feelings and thought,

With long awaited explanations and answers sought.

Tight bitten bottom lips cowardly refuse to mention,

Eliminating repercussions and avoiding further tension.

With missing pieces of the puzzle still left in disarray,

Maybe the truth will be found on some unsuspecting day.
